The Bank of Russia is discussing cryptocurrency regulation with colleagues from the National Bank of Belarus, Deputy Governor Vladimir Chistyukhin said.
“We are currently maintaining a fairly close dialogue, first and foremost with our colleagues from the Republic of Belarus. Indeed, they already have an operating cryptocurrency regulatory framework, and many Russian market participants use their infrastructure and instruments,” he said, according to RBC.
“We will reach individual agreements with them in such a way that, on the one hand, we preserve the opportunities we have to use their market, while, on the other, they have the clearest and simplest possible rules for entering our market,” he added.
It is worth noting that a decree on crypto banks is due to enter into force in Belarus in the near future, allowing the establishment of such financial institutions.
