As of November 4, at least 182 political prisoners in Belarus are at particular risk while behind bars, according to the human rights center Viasna.
Among these 182 political prisoners:
- 66 people are in serious health condition,
- 37 are facing difficult family circumstances (including single and multiple parents, as well as families where both parents are imprisoned),
- 25 are elderly people over 60,
- 9 have mental disorders,
- 8 are persons with disabilities.
This number also includes political prisoners who face discrimination on various grounds, those held under incommunicado conditions, and those who remain in detention even though their sentences have expired.
