Airlines Increasingly Use Belarusian Airspace for Transit Flights

Foreign airlines have begun using Belarusian airspace more frequently for transit flights, Ihar Holub, director of the Aviation Department at the Ministry of Transport, said at a press conference at the National Press Center.

“The flow of aircraft, transit flights through our Republic of Belarus, has increased significantly. The intensity of flights through the airspace of the Republic of Belarus has now grown by almost 27%,” he said.

According to him, Egyptian airlines have increased their transit volume by 52 times, Chinese airlines by 1.7 times, and Kazakh airlines by 1.6 times. Airlines from the UAE and Russia are also flying through Belarus more often.

Against this backdrop, Belaeronavigatsiya has increased the volume of services provided by 18%. A total of 141 airlines from 37 countries have used its services.
