The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has completed the initial stage of an internal review and suspended cooperation with political analyst Alina Kharysava, with whom it had a volunteer agreement.

As previously reported, state television claimed that Kharysava had been passing information to the KGB while believing she was cooperating with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Kharysava explained that about a year ago she began corresponding with a person who presented himself as an SBU officer, but that she did not provide sensitive information and attempted to end the communication.

Following the initial stage of the internal review, Tsikhanouskaya’s Office said that Kharysava had seriously violated security protocols but had not passed sensitive information to third parties.

“It has been established that in the autumn of 2025, Alina Kharysava, who had a volunteer agreement with the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, contrary to instructions and security rules, entered into communication with unidentified individuals who presented themselves as employees of Ukrainian special services and claimed they could provide assistance in connection with pressure being exerted on her and her family by structures of the Lukashenka regime.

This communication constituted a gross violation of the internal security protocols in force within the Office. As a result, a review was commissioned and conducted. During the review, security specialists found no evidence that any sensitive, official or non-public information had been transferred that could have harmed the Office’s activities, the security of its staff members, partners, or Belarusians who had sought assistance. Analysis of the available materials also did not confirm the transfer of internal documents or any other restricted information.

An examination of work and personal devices, accounts and available materials found no indications of remuneration for the alleged cooperation with third parties, including the use of cryptocurrency wallets or the receipt of other payments, nor any search queries related to obtaining money by any means, or traces of software used to transfer funds through cryptocurrencies.”

Tsikhanouskaya’s Office said that the review examined published audio recordings, correspondence materials, browser histories, software, files, work devices and Kharysava’s accounts. The audio recordings and screenshots circulated by state propaganda were found to contain “signs of generation using artificial intelligence technologies.” This calls their authenticity into question, the Office said.

Kharysava confirmed that she had been subjected to persecution and attempts at influence by security services over a prolonged period. However, the Office stated that these circumstances “cannot be regarded as grounds for deviating from established security rules.”

The Office has suspended cooperation with Kharysava. The review is continuing.

“At present, Alina Kharysava’s participation in any activities of the Office has been suspended. The review of this incident is ongoing. The Office will revise its existing security protocols and conduct additional training for staff members, volunteers and individuals cooperating with the Office in expert and advisory capacities.”

Earlier, Kharysava suspended her participation in the European Choice list in the Coordination Council, halted cooperation with all organizations and initiated a review concerning herself.
