The press service of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya published a short comment on her meeting today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a memorial ceremony for the participants of the 1863–1864 uprising in Vilnius.
“It is a great honor for me to meet today in Vilnius with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He embodies the courage of a nation that refuses to surrender and continues to defend its freedom. His leadership reminds the world that dignity, sovereignty and democracy are values worth defending.
Our struggle is shared. Our future is European,” Tsikhanouskaya’s press service quoted her as saying.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at a memorial service at Vilnius Cathedral marking the anniversary of the 1863–1864 uprising, paid special attention to the situation in Belarus, saying that Europe and the world should have supported the Belarusian people in 2020. He also thanked Belarusian volunteers and expressed confidence that Belarus would be part of the European family.
