The subsistence minimum budget in Belarus increased by an average of 2.5% from May 1. It now stands at 509.62 rubles, 12.66 rubles higher than the previous level. The new value will remain in effect until July 31, 2026.
The subsistence minimum now amounts to:
- for the working-age population – 554.4 rubles (+19.49 rubles),
- for pensioners – 366.59 rubles (+5.84 rubles),
- for children under 3 – 314.1 rubles (+6 rubles),
- for children aged 3 to 6 – 422.66 rubles (+8.11 rubles),
- for children aged 6 to 18 – 497.59 rubles (+7.69 rubles).
Accordingly, social payments linked to the subsistence minimum, such as child benefits and pension supplements, have also increased.
Age-based pension supplements from May 1 are as follows:
- for those aged 65–79 – 95.56 rubles, and 222.97 rubles for those with a Group I disability,
- for those aged 80 and over (including a care allowance) – 191.12 rubles, and 254.82 rubles for those with a Group I disability.
The one-time childbirth allowance amounts to:
- for the first child – 10 subsistence minimums, or 5,096.2 rubles,
- for the second and subsequent children – 14 subsistence minimums, or 7,134.68 rubles.
The allowance for women who register with healthcare institutions before 12 weeks of pregnancy is 509.62 rubles.
Child benefits are now set at the following levels:
- for children aged 3 to 18 during the period of raising a child under 3 (monthly) – 50% of the subsistence minimum, or 254.81 rubles,
- benefits for children over 3 from certain categories of families defined by law (monthly): for children over 3 raised in such families (excluding a child with a disability) – 50% of the subsistence minimum, or 254.81 rubles; for a child with a disability over 3 – 70% of the subsistence minimum, or 356.73 rubles
Allowance for the care of a child with a disability under 18:
- with Group I and II health loss until the child reaches 18, and with Group III and IV health loss until the child reaches 3 – 100% of the subsistence minimum, or 509.62 rubles,
- with Group III and IV health loss after the child reaches 3 – 120% of the subsistence minimum, or 611.54 rubles.
The monthly allowance for children under 18 infected with the human immunodeficiency virus is 70% of the subsistence minimum, or 356.73 rubles.
