The Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee identified 195 tax evasion-related crimes in 2025, committee chairman Vasiliy Herasimau told the National Assembly.

Among the cases uncovered was a scheme involving the import and sale of medical goods and equipment in Belarus on behalf of a foreign company. The amount of unpaid corporate income tax totaled 4.5 million Belarusian rubles.

“We also identified the owners of a private company who, through an affiliated firm established in Russia, provided performers and artists for concerts organised by state cultural institutions. Using this scheme, the individuals involved transferred more than 16 million rubles abroad between 2022 and 2024 and concealed profits amounting to 2.8 million rubles,” Herasimau said.

More than 120 crimes were linked to the payment of wages that were not reflected in accounting records.

Last year, authorities recorded 158 corruption-related crimes, as well as 71 cases of unlawful intermediary activity.

As an example, Herasimau cited a case involving a group of individuals who supplied imported equipment and testing systems to dairy processing enterprises at inflated prices. The damage was estimated at around 5 million Belarusian rubles. He also referred to a case involving the sale of products at inflated prices by relabelling them from “feed additives” to “feed concentrates.”
