Police detained a 36-year-old Minsk resident. The man is suspected of extortion. He demanded one million rubles from his former boss.
According to the Interior Ministry’s press service, the man worked as a department head at a large cosmetics manufacturing company. For two years, he collected information about the company’s financial and business activities.
After leaving the company, he joined a competitor and attempted to blackmail the 35-year-old head of his former company, threatening to disclose sensitive information about her business.
He was detained during another meeting with the victim with the support of Interior Ministry SPBT “Almaz” fighters.
