The Embassy of Romania in Belarus has announced the suspension of operations of its consular section from May 22, 2026. The information was published on the diplomatic mission’s website.

According to the announcement, Belarusian citizens wishing to apply for a visa must now contact the consular section of the Embassy of Romania in Russia. It is located in Moscow at 64 Mosfilmovskaya Street.

At the same time, the embassy in Minsk will continue to process only emergency requests from Romanian citizens. These include the issuance of travel documents and the provision of consular assistance in special situations.

An emergency consular assistance hotline will continue to operate for Romanian citizens facing emergency situations.

It should be recalled that from January 1, 2025, Romania fully joined the Schengen Agreement, abolishing border controls at land, sea and air borders.
