Preparations for a visit to Ukraine are continuing, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya told journalists on the sidelines of the Conference of Belarusians Worldwide. According to her, relations between Belarusian democratic forces and the Ukrainian side are good.
“Everything is going well on the Ukrainian track. When we speak about our relations, of course the situation in the country itself is far from good. And we admire the courage of Ukrainians, the fighters and our Belarusian volunteers who are now fighting there. We are preparing my visit. As we understand, it is not entirely simple, as there are logistical difficulties and also the schedule of President Zelenskyy. But we are in contact with the presidential office, with ministries, and with our Belarusians in Ukraine so that when specific dates become clear, we can organise everything in the best possible way”, she said.
Reports of an invitation for Tsikhanouskaya to visit Kyiv first emerged after her meeting with the Ukrainian president in Vilnius and were later confirmed. There had been indications that such a visit could take place at the end of March. However, Tsikhanouskaya’s office later said that possible dates were being worked on, without specifying them.
