The Silesian Customs and Tax Service has imposed a substantial fine on a Polish company following an investigation that found it had circumvented sanctions by supplying vehicles to Russia through Belarus.
Over a six-month period in 2023, the company sold 177 cars and one motorcycle outside the European Union. The value of some of the vehicles exceeded €50,000, while the total value of the shipments amounted to €19 million. The vehicles were transported through Belarus before being imported into Russia.
As a result, the authority imposed a fine of 20 million zlotys (approximately €4.7 million) on the company.
