The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade expects monthly inflation to slow in February. This was stated by Deputy Minister Natallia Vasileuskaya.

“At present, we are within the established forecast parameters, everything is under control. We will try to maintain the set pace going forward as well. For February, we estimate inflation at 100.3%,” she said.

It is recalled that in January, monthly inflation stood at 0.5%. According to Vasileuskaya, inflation forecasting is also aided by an automated price analysis system, which currently includes only three products: refrigerators, tyres and bicycles. Despite covering only three indicators so far, this helped last year to calculate prices for the basic vegetable basket, Natallia Vasileuskaya explained, as reported by SB.by.

“From the point of view of control, we are now gradually beginning to adapt this system to our needs. Yes, it needs to be developed in a deeper and more substantive way, expanding the range of goods represented there,” the outlet quotes her as saying.
