On April 30, Alyaksandr Lukashenka held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The call took place at the initiative of the Iranian side.
Pezeshkian informed Lukashenka about the situation in the Persian Gulf region, as well as Tehran’s position in negotiations with the United States.
“The interlocutors noted that the main stumbling block to reaching peaceful agreements is a lack of trust. The Belarusian leader emphasised the country’s interest in the swift resolution of the conflict. In turn, the President of Iran thanked Alyaksandr Lukashenka for his principled and consistent position”, Lukashenka’s press service said.
On April 27, a military delegation from Iran visited Minsk, led by Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics for strategic planning Reza Seifollahi Talaei Nik. During a meeting at the Belarusian Defence Ministry, “issues of bilateral cooperation in the military sphere” were discussed.
