The Bereza District Court has delivered a guilty verdict against the director of one of the largest agro-industrial enterprises in the Brest region. The man was charged under Part 3 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code (accepting a bribe).
He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a reinforced-regime penal colony and fined 4,000 base units (180,000 rubles). He was also banned for five years from holding positions involving organizational, managerial, and administrative duties.
The case was linked to the rental of premises. According to the court’s press service, a married couple of business owners owned a building. The director suggested that they lease the premises to the state enterprise for the opening of a shop. The state enterprise paid the rent, while the landlords kept only 210 dollars and transferred the remaining money to the director. The scheme operated from January 2018 to July 2025. In total, the director received more than 200,000 rubles.
The defendant did not admit guilt and denied receiving bribes.
According to a previously published statement by the Investigative Committee, the business couple “voluntarily came to law enforcement authorities and described the entire scheme of criminal actions in detail.”
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed or protested.
