Russian customs officers, together with Rosselkhoznadzor, have detained several consignments of goods at the Belarusian-Russian border. Dog food and lawn grass seeds were being illegally transported into Russia, while strawberry seedlings were intended for Belarus.

A vehicle carrying 4.5 tonnes of Italian dog food was stopped in Russia’s Pskov region. The goods were transported without veterinary accompanying documents, and the manufacturer’s certification in Russia had been suspended since 2023. The cargo was returned to Belarus.

In Russia’s Bryansk region, Rosselkhoznadzor prevented the import of about 8 tonnes of lawn grass seeds from Minsk to the Moscow region. The driver did not have phytosanitary certificates for the cargo. The seeds were returned to the sender.

In the Smolensk region, Rosselkhoznadzor officers did not allow the export of 21,000 strawberry seedlings to Belarus without phytosanitary certificates. The vehicle was returned to the place of loading, and the carrier was held administratively liable.
