Banks increased lending to individuals in March. Loans totaling 1.56 billion rubles were issued during the month, 330 million rubles more than in February. Compared with March last year, lending volume rose by 11.3%, according to data published by the National Bank of Belarus.
At the same time, due to reduced lending volumes in January–February, the total amount of loans issued by banks to individuals decreased by 4.4% in the first quarter compared with the same period last year.
Consumer lending volumes in January–March fell by 2.9% to 3.14 billion rubles. Lending for real estate declined by 11.2% to 735.1 million rubles.
Household debt on loans increased by 388 million rubles in March, reaching 30.3 billion rubles as of April 1. Over the year, household loan debt rose by 11.7%.
Debt on consumer loans increased by 13.2% to 12.06 billion rubles, while debt on real estate loans rose by 10.8% to 18.2 billion rubles.
As of April 1, individuals had overdue loans totaling 55.3 million rubles, 3.5 million rubles more than as of March 1. Over the year, the volume of overdue debt increased by 12.6 million rubles.
