Belarus Government Reallocates Budget Funds for Five Ministries, Primarily for Salaries

The Council of Ministers has reallocated budget funds for five ministries under Resolution No. 656 of 21 November. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.

Under the resolution, the following allocations will be made:

  • The Ministry of Natural Resources will receive 1.97 million roubles for the Belhydromet Centre, including salaries, routine repairs and equipment purchases; 1.5 million roubles for subsoil research; and 10,100 roubles for foreign trips.
  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Food will receive 1.3 million roubles for salaries for employees of Veterinary Supervision and the Belarusian Directorate of State Veterinary Supervision at the State Border and Transport.
  • The Ministry of Forestry will receive 18.7 million roubles for salaries for forestry enterprise employees.
  • The Ministry of Health will receive 2 million roubles for salaries for staff of the Military Medical Institute of the Belarusian State Medical University.
  • The Ministry of Transport will receive 268,250 roubles for salaries for employees of the Brest College, a branch of the Belarusian State University of Transport.

In most cases, the funds are being provided through the reallocation of money already assigned to the same ministries for other purposes. The exception is the money allocated to the Ministry of Forestry, which will receive funds through a reduction in national budget spending on servicing external public debt. Part of the funds for the Ministry of Natural Resources will also come from budget resources previously intended for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
