Belarusian customs officers have blocked an attempt to import goods worth more than $800,000 from Russia, the State Customs Committee (GTK) reported.

An individual entrepreneur entered Belarus in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter truck with a trailer, carrying nearly 72,000 units of electronic cigarettes, vaping liquids, headphones, home multimedia systems, gaming consoles, cosmetic tools, and other goods.

The products were of foreign origin, but the entrepreneur had no documentation or proof that they had been imported through the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The Operational Customs Office has launched administrative proceedings under Article 13.12 of the Administrative Code for the illegal transport of goods. Authorities are also considering opening additional cases related to non-declaration of goods and violations of labeling requirements.
