Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has approved a concept for the development of missile forces and artillery through 2030. The plan provides for the creation of long-range missiles.

“A separate area is the development of missile weapons. We must expand our capabilities to strike targets throughout the enemy’s operational-strategic and strategic depth. To achieve this, the completion of development and subsequent serial production of domestically produced ballistic and cruise missiles is envisaged. Combined with unmanned systems, this will make it possible to create a balanced long-range strike system and ensure the destruction of targets at distances of up to 2,000 kilometres,” Syrskyi said.

Overall, the strategy places emphasis on Ukrainian-made weapons and the gradual replacement of worn-out Soviet-era artillery systems. Units equipped with foreign-made artillery systems will remain in service.
