Polish customs officers intercepted three shipments of Belarusian cigarettes. Around 9,600 packs were being transported on a freight train, while more than 1,500 packs were found in two cars.

At the customs terminal in Małaszewicze, customs officers discovered cigarettes in a railcar carrying pellets while scanning the train. A total of 9,600 packs of Belarusian cigarettes had been hidden between bags of legitimate cargo. The shipment is estimated to be worth 200,000 zlotys ($51,000), the Lublin Customs and Tax Office in Biała Podlaska reported.

At the Kuźnica border crossing, customs officers seized more than 1,500 packs of Belarusian cigarettes from two cars driven by two 21-year-old Belarusian men. In both cases, the cigarettes had been hidden inside the seats. The value of the smuggled goods was estimated at more than 31,000 zlotys ($7,900).
