Second Unit of BelNPP Connected to the Grid

The second unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) has been connected to the grid after completion of scheduled maintenance, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

Spent nuclear fuel was replaced with fresh fuel.

“In accordance with international practice, scheduled preventive maintenance is carried out at nuclear power plants annually in order to maintain stable operational conditions of the equipment,” the ministry noted.

Scheduled maintenance on the second unit began on 13 November 2025.

Before that, the unit had been shut down for scheduled maintenance in July–October 2024. During 2024, the second unit was disconnected from the grid twice — in December 2024 due to activation of a sensor, and in July 2025 due to activation of an alarm indicating a deviation in the generator cooling system.
