BMZ has reported its results for the first half of the year. The company described its performance as stable and said it had achieved positive profitability.
“In the first six months of 2026, our plant operated steadily despite difficult conditions in the global steel market. We produced more than 707,000 tonnes of steel, over 651,000 tonnes of rolled products, more than 46,000 tonnes of pipes and around 60,000 tonnes of metalware products”, First Deputy Director General Anatol Volkau said.
He said problems in Russia’s construction sector had affected supplies of reinforcing steel. Housing lending programmes and construction investment are being scaled back there. A decline in oil production volumes has affected pipe shipments.
“BMZ has developed a programme to improve the efficiency of production and product sales. We are relying on a clearly defined sales strategy and the diversification of our products. One of the programme’s key areas is increasing the share of our products on the domestic market. Over the past three years, we have doubled this figure. It previously stood at 30%, and now it is more than 60%”, Volkau added.
