Publishing House “Literaturny Svet” Suspended for Three Months in Belarus

Belarus’ Ministry of Information has suspended for three months the state registration certificate of the cultural and educational institution “Literaturny Svet.”

The ministry said the grounds for the decision were a violation of paragraph five of clause 1 of Article 32 of Belarus’ law “On Publishing Activities” — the publisher released printed materials without preparing technical documentation allowing the identification of the publisher, the type of publication, and the print run.

“Literaturny Svet” is a subsidiary organization of the Republican Public Association “Belarusian Literary Union ‘Polatsk Branch.’”
