Police will deploy drones equipped with loudspeakers at the Slavianski Bazaar festival in Vitsyebsk for “informational work with citizens,” Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou said at a working meeting.
The head of the Interior Ministry instructed officials to increase the number of checkpoints if necessary, with particular attention to public information efforts, including the use of drones with loudspeakers, the ministry said.
Kubrakou urged law enforcement officers not to relax and to be prepared for any possible developments.
“But, colleagues, there must be no relaxation. Convey this to all personnel. The security bloc is taking all necessary measures to ensure safety. Everyone sees what is happening near the borders. Certain statements coming from abroad are fuelling hysteria. We must be prepared for any development of events. To do this, we need to model different scenarios and assess how our units operate and what additional measures are needed,” he said.
Kubrakou instructed officers to treat citizens politely and attentively, while “firmly putting in their place” those who come “to engage in hooliganism and impose their own rules.”
It should be recalled that a readiness inspection related to maintaining public order is taking place in Vitsyebsk today.
