The Interior Ministry is conducting exercises in Vitsyebsk. The drills are intended to test the readiness of Interior Ministry units to operate under special conditions.
“In this regard, on June 23 and 24, temporary restrictions on the movement of all types of transport along Frunze Avenue may be introduced throughout the day. The movement of special and military vehicles is also possible”, the ministry warned.
One of the stages of the exercises will take place at the Summer Amphitheatre. During the scenario-based drills, sounds of explosions and gunfire may be heard.
It is worth recalling that in April the Interior Ministry already held command-and-staff exercises in Vitsyebsk, during which the actions of internal affairs bodies and internal troops “under special conditions” were practised. Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou attended those exercises. He was dissatisfied with the first stage, which focused on the theoretical aspects of maintaining public security. Kubrakou sharply criticized the drills, made a number of personnel decisions and ordered a training seminar to be held.
