Minsk To Switch Fully To LED Street Lighting By 2030

By 2030, only LED lighting will be used on the streets of Minsk. This was announced by Alyaksandr Varabtsou, director of Mingorsvet.

“By 2030 all street lighting in Minsk will switch to LEDs, which will reduce energy consumption and improve road safety. Architectural lighting will appear on buildings adjacent to the Minsk Ring Road, the second transport ring and the third metro line,” he said.

The modernization of street lighting was discussed during a meeting at the Minsk City Executive Committee on Monday.

“In addition, the city has decided to build a network of decorative illumination. In particular, we plan to equip Mirashnichenka Street from Hamarnika Street to the Minsk Ring Road, Partyzansky Avenue from Aleh Kashevoy Street to Vaneev Square, and Arlouskaya Street (from Tymiryazeva Street to the Svislach River), as well as Old Airport Square,” he said.
