The visit of John Coale to Belarus is scheduled for September 15. Aliaksandr Lukashenka said this today while speaking to journalists at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground.
Lukashenka was asked whether the “big deal” with the United States was still on the table. He replied that he did not understand what was meant by the deal. “Probably the agreement with Trump?” he clarified.
Lukashenka noted that there are many issues that could be discussed with the U.S. side: potash supplies, the return of $43-44 million stuck in Citibank, the lifting of sanctions on Belarusian enterprises, the resumption of embassy operations, and nuclear materials.
“So there are a bunch of issues, not some ‘deal,’ Trump and so on. Yes, I spoke openly that I am a ‘Trumpist,’ that I supported Trump and so on. I see his mistakes, and I tell his best friend about them directly, the one who is supposed to come to us on the 15th. I tell him about it,” Lukashenka said.
He also said he was ready to meet with Donald Trump, but “not for show.”
