“Horizont” and “Holographic Industry” Sanctioned by the EU

The European Union has expanded sanctions against the Belarusian regime “in view of the situation in Belarus and its involvement in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.” The document was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The new EU sanctions target three Belarusian companies and two individuals:

  • Horizont Holding
  • Research and Development Unitary Enterprise “Horizont Institute of Digital Television”
  • JSC “Holographic Industry”
  • Ilya Ikan, Chairman of the Belneftekhim Concern
  • Yuri Predko, General Director of OJSC “Managing Company of Horizont Holding”

In addition, the EU’s new 19th sanctions package against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine includes three Belarusian banks: Alfa-Bank, VTB Bank, and Sber Bank. The restrictions against them will take effect on December 2.
