The Viciebsk Region Prosecutor’s Office has referred a corruption case in the construction sector to court. Executives and founders of a commercial organisation are accused of giving bribes, while officials from two construction trusts are charged with receiving them.
According to the prosecution, the генеральный директор and chief engineer of one of the Viciebsk trusts accepted material assets and cash as bribes between January and July last year, totalling more than 19,000 and 16,000 rubles respectively. The payments were made in exchange for concluding subcontracting agreements and processing related payments.
In September 2025, the managers of the commercial organisation also handed 10,000 rubles to the deputy генерального директора of a construction trust in Navapolatsk and attempted to give the same amount to the company’s генеральный директор. This time, the money was intended to secure the selection of a service provider for construction waste processing following an open tender.
Preventive measures imposed on the defendants include detention, bail and подписка о невыезде and proper conduct.
