Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yauhen Shastakou visited Cuba. According to the Foreign Ministry, he reaffirmed unconditional support and solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban people.
During the visit, Shastakou held meetings with acting head of Cuba’s foreign affairs agency Gerardo Peñalver Portal. Inter-ministerial consultations were also held with Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, along with talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez, and Vice Prime Minister Óscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga.
“During the meetings, readiness was expressed to intensify contacts between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Cuba, and interest was reaffirmed in expanding existing cooperation and identifying new effective mechanisms of interaction in various areas. A programme of cultural events has been outlined to mark the upcoming 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Cuba”, the Foreign Ministry said.
