The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus has approved a bill ratifying an agreement with the Sultanate of Oman on the mutual abolition of visas. The decision was taken at a meeting of the fourth session of the Council of the Republic, BelTA reported.

According to Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yauhen Shastakou, the document provides for visa-free entry of Belarusian citizens to Oman and Omani citizens to Belarus on the basis of valid national passports for up to 30 days from the date of entry. At the same time, the total period of stay without a visa must not exceed 90 days within a year.

He also noted that direct air service between Belarus and Oman was launched in February 2025. According to him, this has had a positive impact on tourism and business contacts. In 2025, nearly 500 Omani citizens visited Belarus, while tourist flows from Belarus to Oman over the same period amounted to about 5,500 people.
