Dzianis Kuchynski, diplomatic adviser to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, held meetings in Warsaw with representatives of the offices of the Polish prime minister and president. The sides discussed the legal status of Belarusians, regional security and joint cultural projects.

At the Prime Minister’s Office, Kuchynski met with Paweł Graś, head of the prime minister’s political cabinet. One of the main topics was the issuance of residence permits, travel documents and international protection to Belarusians. Kuchynski stressed that, amid intensifying repression in Belarus, it was important to preserve opportunities for Belarusians to seek refuge in Poland and work legally.

The sides also discussed cooperation with Ukraine, engagement between Belarusian democratic forces and the Ukrainian leadership, and prospects for work within the Lublin Triangle format.

At the Polish President’s Office, Kuchynski met with Sebastian Kęciek, deputy director of the Bureau of International Policy. The Polish side confirmed its intention to continue the tradition of hosting a Christmas reception for Belarusians at the Belweder Palace during the upcoming Christmas season.

The participants also discussed joint cultural initiatives, including translations of works by Sergiusz Piasecki, sporting events and projects dedicated to the shared historical heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

“Poland has been and remains one of the most reliable and consistent allies of democratic Belarus. It is important for us to ensure systematic support for Belarusians who have been forced to leave their homeland because of repression and seek refuge in Poland,” Kuchynski said.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining cultural and historical dialogue between the two peoples.

Following the meetings, the Belarusian side emphasised the importance of maintaining close cooperation with both the Polish government and the president, as well as supporting the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people.
