Belarusian Defense Ministry to Begin Sending Conscripts to the Army on October 23

The Ministry of Defense will begin dispatching conscripts to military units starting October 23, the ministry’s press service reported. On the first day, about 1,000 draftees will join the ranks of the Special Operations Forces, the Minsk Military Commandant’s Office, the 72nd Guards Joint Training Center, and the 361st Security and Maintenance Base.

In total, around 10,000 people will be drafted for compulsory military service during October and November. Around 500 more will be sent for reserve training during the same period.

The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for November 22.
