Belarus and Ghana have agreed on the delivery of 1,840 units of agricultural machinery, Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama said.

“As I speak today, Ghana has placed an order for 1,840 pieces of agricultural equipment from Belarus,” Modern Ghana quoted Mahama as saying.

The machinery will be distributed to farmer service centers being established across Ghana.

Ghana is also opening opportunities for Belarusian investment in commercial agriculture, irrigation development, fertilizer production, poultry farming, aquaculture, agro-processing and agricultural logistics, Mahama said.

In addition, Belarus and Ghana discussed cooperation in industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, technology and infrastructure development. Belarusian mining equipment manufacturers are expected to visit Ghana next week to explore investment opportunities in the mining sector.

The President of Ghana arrived in Belarus on June 5 for an official visit. He met with Aliaksandr Lukashenka, visited the Belagro exhibition and took part in the Belarus-Ghana business forum. During the visit, the sides signed a package of documents.
