The Belarusian Ministry of Finance has announced another round of eurobond replacement. It will take place on February 24.
On that day, eurobonds of the Belarus-2030 issue (ISIN XS1760804184/US07737JAC71) and Belarus-2031 issue (ISIN XS2120882183/US07737JAD54) will be replaced with government bonds.
“Only holders of eurobonds who acquired the securities before July 26, 2024, and ensure their blocking in the accounts of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus are eligible to carry out the replacement. Payment of interest income for past periods is made subject to confirmation of ownership of the securities on the relevant dates. The required information must be submitted in the prescribed manner to the non-resident depository,” the Finance Ministry recalled.
The previous round of eurobond replacement was carried out at the end of December. At that time, investors were able to exchange securities of the Belarus-2027 issue worth $9.4 million. The replacement was carried out for 194 holders.
Overall, the Finance Ministry has already carried out eurobond exchanges totaling about $700 million.
