Belarus Could Increase Troop Numbers To Half A Million — Lukashenka

The number of military personnel in Belarus currently stands at around 100,000, but in the event of war it could increase to 500,000 people. Alyaksandr Lukashenka gave these figures today while summing up the results of the combat readiness inspection of the armed forces.

“We have 70,000 under arms today. Almost 100,000 in total. Karpiankou and Kubrakou also have troops. There are small units in the State Security Committee. And others. One hundred thousand. Half a million including additional mobilisation in the event of war”, he said.

“I ask you, teach people how to fight if we continue to work and serve together”, Lukashenka added.

Lukashenka also said that Belarus is preparing for war, stated that the recent combat readiness inspection revealed shortcomings in the armed forces, suggested that the military change concentration areas more often and recalled how he invited Wagner PMC instructors to Belarus.
