Governor of Russia’s Samara region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported a missile strike on an industrial enterprise in the region. An operational headquarters has been set up at the site, and emergency services are working there.
“Information about the consequences, and most importantly about any casualties, is currently being clarified,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Ukrainian Telegram channels report that the strike may have hit the TsSKB-Progress enterprise. It is a Russian developer and manufacturer of launch vehicles and spacecraft. The enterprise is part of the Roscosmos structure and is involved in the production of Soyuz-2 launch vehicles. Unconfirmed information about a possible strike on the Aviakor aircraft plant, which is located nearby, was also circulated online.
It is claimed that a Ukrainian long-range cruise missile, the Flamingo, may have been used in the strike on Samara.
Denys Shtilierman, one of the owners of Ukrainian company Fire Point, which produces the Flamingo, published a launch video in response to a post by Exilenova+ about the strike on the Aviakor plant.
A number of Russian and Ukrainian outlets are reporting explosions near the Savasleyka military airfield in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region, where MiG-31K fighter jets are based. The aircraft are carriers of Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles.
