Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called a lie a statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov alleging that Ukraine attempted to attack the residence of Vladimir Putin in Russia’s Novgorod Region with drones, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
“Another lie by the Russian Federation. It is clear that yesterday we had a meeting with Trump. And it is clear that for the Russians, if there is no scandal between us and America and we have progress, then for them this is a failure. Because they do not want to end this war. They can only be forced to end it through pressure. And so, I am sure, they were looking for reasons in this,” Zelenskyy told journalists.
Zelenskyy believes that Russia is preparing grounds for strikes on Kyiv and state institutions.
“That is why everyone needs to be attentive now, absolutely everyone. A strike on the capital may be carried out. Especially since this person, if one can speak and call it a person, said that they would select appropriate targets, that is, they are threatening,” Zelenskyy said.
Lavrov said that Ukraine attacked Putin’s residence using 91 drones. He stated that in connection with this, Russia would change its negotiating position, threatened Kyiv with retaliation, and warned that targets had already been chosen.
