Belarusian actor Siarhei Toustsikau, known for numerous theater roles and projects by Malanka and Belsat, is facing serious health problems. After a recent hospitalization, the artist returned home, but his condition requires long-term treatment and rehabilitation.
Siarhei Toustsikau devoted more than 20 years to Belarusian theater. In 2020, he took a principled stand, which led to the loss of his job at the New Drama Theatre and forced emigration. In Vilnius, Siarhei not only continued his acting career but also founded the children’s theater studio “U Neskladanae,” helping raise a new generation of Belarusians. Audiences know the actor from the productions “White Mouse,” “Tikhari,” and “The Carpenter,” and as recently as April he performed in this year’s premiere — a staging based on Belarusian folklore titled “The Devil’s Daughter.”
However, the hard physical labor the actor was forced to do during the first years of emigration — he assembled metal structures to make a living — affected his health. Chronic arthritis progressed into an acute stage accompanied by severe pain.
At the end of April, Siarhei Toustsikau was hospitalized; he is now at home but needs recovery and rehabilitation. Funds are needed for medication, specialist consultations and basic living expenses. Now that Siarhei is unable to work fully, he urgently needs the support of colleagues, friends and caring people.
