Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that relay stations in Belarus allegedly used by Russian forces to help coordinate strikes against Ukraine have stopped operating since June 22. At the same time, he noted that there is still no confirmed information that the systems have been dismantled. Zelensky made the remarks during a briefing for journalists.
“Good afternoon, dear journalists! Many of you have questions about Belarus: what is happening there, what is the situation with the relay stations, are they operating or not? According to the information available to me, which was reported by the Commander-in-Chief and our intelligence, the relevant relay stations stopped operating on the territory of Belarus as of June 22. Whether they have been dismantled or not, I honestly do not know yet. But we are working on this. I am following the situation very closely and receive daily briefings. The fact is that, as of today, the relay stations are no longer operating,” the president said.
On June 19, Zelensky gave Aliaksandr Lukashenka one week to switch off the relay stations allegedly used by Russian drones, warning that otherwise Ukraine would destroy them itself.
