Weather Balloon Carrying Package Found in Lesser Poland Voivodeship

A weather balloon with boxes attached to it was found in the settlement of Iwkowa in Poland’s Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

Three balloons carrying a package, which had become caught on a bush, were discovered by a local resident, reported RMF FM.

Police seized the object, and it was examined by bomb disposal experts. It posed no danger.

Judging by the images, it was a weather balloon transporting contraband cigarettes. It should be noted that the distance from Iwkowa to the Belarusian border is about 300 km. The balloons would have had to travel in a south-western direction to reach the location.
