Lukashenka Says He Wants to Build a “More Just Global Order” With Switzerland

Aliaksandr Lukashenka congratulated the people of the Swiss Confederation on their national holiday, Swiss National Day, while once again making no mention of the country’s leadership.

“Belarusians and Swiss people are united not only by personal ties, but also by tolerance and the aspiration to resolve all issues through peaceful means,” he said.

In his view, this creates “favourable conditions for realizing the potential of bilateral cooperation in various fields on the principles of mutual trust and respect.”

“Today, the futility of a policy of artificially restricting contacts between people and states is already absolutely obvious,” his press service quoted him as saying.

“Through joint efforts, we are capable of making an important contribution to ensuring peace and building a sustainable and more just global order,” Lukashenka said.

He wished the multinational people of Switzerland “harmony, prosperity and a happy life.”
