Unknown Individuals Sent Mass Messages in the Name of the “Your Voice” Bloc

News

On May 7, unknown individuals carried out a mass messaging campaign in the name of the “Your Voice” bloc, which is participating in the elections to the Coordination Council.

Belarusians living in Poland received text messages on their phones containing campaign appeals and a link to the bloc’s Telegram channel. The messages were sent from the number +48 532 963 671.

“Your Voice” called the incident a provocation and stated that it had no connection to the messaging campaign. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

“The ‘Your Voice’ bloc officially states that it has no connection to this messaging campaign, its organization, or its distribution.

We consider it unacceptable to use the names of political associations without their consent, as well as to employ such provocative methods during an election campaign,” the bloc stated.

“Your Voice” also reported what it described as “improper informational pressure within the democratic community itself.” In addition, relatives of some bloc members in Belarus are allegedly facing threats and persecution from security services.

“We view what is happening as an attempt to intimidate and demoralize people participating in democratic processes. However, such actions only confirm the importance of honest representation, open discussion, and an independent voice for Belarusians — your voice,” the bloc said.
