A missile threat was declared late on January 8 due to the risk of Russia using ballistic missiles from the Kapustin Yar test range, the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force said.
“On 08.01.2026 at around 23:30, a missile threat was declared across the entire territory of Ukraine due to the threat of the enemy using ballistic missiles from the Kapustin Yar test range. Explosions were recorded in the Lviv region. Information is being уточняется,” the statement said.
Information about an attack on a critical infrastructure facility in the Lviv region was confirmed by Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv regional military administration, and Andriy Sadovyi, mayor of Lviv.
