Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is taking part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is being held in Gdańsk on June 25-26.
The event has brought together representatives of Ukraine and European leaders. It is dedicated to the country’s post-war reconstruction and brings together politicians and business representatives.
The conference is hosted by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not travel to Gdańsk amid tensions in Polish-Ukrainian relations that arose after one of Ukraine’s military units was given the name “Heroes of the UPA,” prompting a strong reaction in Poland. In particular, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle.
Other participants include European Council President António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, as well as heads of government and leaders of other EU member states.
