Leader of Belarus’s democratic forces Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha honoured the memory of fallen Ukrainian service members and Belarusian volunteers at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv.
During the ceremony, Tsikhanouskaya said that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, more than 80 Belarusians who had taken part in combat operations on Ukraine’s side had been killed.
“We remember every one of them. Streets in a free Belarus will be named after them”, said the head of the United Transitional Cabinet.
According to Tsikhanouskaya, Belarusian volunteers are “defending not only Ukraine but also the honour of the Belarusian people” and are fighting for the region’s “shared freedom”.
She also mentioned Belarusian volunteers being held in Russian captivity, as well as veterans and participants in the war who had been wounded.
Tsikhanouskaya stressed the need to support them and their families.
