Approved Draft Agreement Between Belarus And Zimbabwe On Customs Matters

On August 24, Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree approving as the basis for negotiations a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Zimbabwe on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters.

The agreement defines the main forms of cooperation between the parties, procedures for providing mutual assistance to ensure the proper application of customs legislation, the organization of information exchange, as well as cooperation in preventing and investigating customs offenses.

“The implementation of the agreement will improve the efficiency of customs authorities in carrying out tasks to protect the economic interests of the state,” the Lukashenka press service reports.

The State Customs Committee has been instructed to conduct the negotiations and sign the agreement.
