Three Killed, Including Child, in Crash With Fuel Truck in Svetlahorsk District

Three people were killed and two others were hospitalized following a road accident in the Svetlahorsk district. The victims included an 11-year-old girl, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.

The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. today on the 18th kilometer of the N-5011 highway linking Svetlahorsk, Sasnovy Bor and Paliessie. A 46-year-old driver of a Mazda lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a MAZ fuel truck.

The driver of the passenger car and two passengers — an 11-year-old girl and a 78-year-old woman — were killed. An 8-year-old boy and a 51-year-old woman were taken to hospital.

Traffic police officers, emergency responders and an investigative task force are working at the scene.

On the instructions of Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou, acting head of the Interior Ministry’s Main Traffic Police Directorate Andrei Harkusha was dispatched to the scene of the crash.
