The Investigative Committee is conducting an inquiry into the death of a 15-year-old teenager in the Pinsk district.
According to investigators, four teenage boys arrived at the riverbank in the village of Krasava on Monday evening. They went swimming. At some point, the 15-year-old went under the water and was unable to resurface.
His friends sought help from the owner of the nearest house, who attempted to locate the teenager in the river himself. The boy was later recovered from the Prypiats River by rescuers who arrived at the scene. He showed no signs of life.
Authorities established that the area where the teenagers had been swimming was not designated or equipped for bathing.
