Smugglers’ weather balloons not only disrupted operations at Vilnius Airport today. More than 10 balloons also drifted into Poland. This was reported by RMF FM.
According to the radio station, the weather balloons were spotted in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, near the towns of Ełk, Giżycko and Bartoszyce.
Polish law enforcement agencies, the Border Guard and the military have not yet officially reported detecting airborne contraband or spotting weather balloons on radar.

Police in Ełk confirmed that several balloons landed in the county. Police received several calls about the balloons early this morning. The contraband was seized. An investigation has been launched.
Weather balloons were also found in Podlasie. One of them landed near Siemiatycze.
